About
The Hebrew Benevolent Society of Charleston, SC founded in 1784 is the oldest Jewish charitable society in the United States. Our society aims to provide aid and comfort to those of our co-religionists in need. We cater to the indigent sick, the widow, the orphan, the aged, destitute families, and children, and more. We strive to make a difference in our community, and we are constantly working to help those in need.
